Place du Marché Notre-Dame, Versailles.

Tonight we visited the market, to grab some dinner...The four elevator shafts have excellent decorations. Here are decorations from two of the shafts.

Today in Paris...

A visit to the Louvre to catch up with some Aussie friends...
A quick look at some of the window displays.
One painting had her own special window.
She's very popular...
I know this sculpture from past visits, but I never noticed the little hand before...
Found these delightful goddesses.
Two art teachers...

New Doona cover...

It got a thumbs up!
The promotion is back, in the local supermarket you can buy a selection of Christian Lacroix sheets, doona covers, towels and blankets, - 70% off with your 10 stickers... all I can say is "yes please!"
I've been looking for a new cover for weeks, so it was perfect... Yes, I know it has creases, but I'm a non-ironer, and with 2 kids, a hubby and a cat... it's not worth it.

Hubby's Birthday 8th of September

It's just before the big one...
A grumpy face turned into a smile.
Everyone gets a go at blowing out the candles...
Raspberry cake.... yumo.

Today in Paris

I never get tired of the Pont Neuf in Paris.
A close up of the base of the lamps.
A good spot in the shade, for a couple of sketches.
Here is the equestrian statue of King Henry IV of France. All that glitters isn't gold... Love padlocks are all over the fences.
Inside a courtyard, down from the Palais des Beaux-Arts.
Looking to the Louvre.
An art shop, opposite the Louvre, who are very serious about art, with their white coats. But it jam packed with lots of tempting goodies... They are closed on Sundays, Monday mornings and at lunchtimes.
The Louvre and Pont Royal...

Paris, 22nd of August.

Things are looking up, at the Eiffel Tower.
Meeting some Aussie friends at the Tower.
A self portrait by the eldest.

Exploring Versailles

Since moving to Versailles, we have been exploring the spaces and places. Above is the town hall.
Just out of the main part of town, a street sweeper was emptying his load. The youngest loves street sweepers.
It was great in the shade.
Bike storage.
Notre Dame Church and below some of it's sculptures.
A lovely shop, worth exploring more closely.
I think this is part of a college, Lycée Hoche.
