Visit to the Pompidou Metz

Today we visited Pompidou Metz, to see the new "1917" exhibition. As you can guess, there were lots of WWI related objects and artworks. I was bit worried about the reaction of Alex, to view so much death related imagery. But he was okay. He said he felt sad, because of all of the people who died.
On the way to the exhibit, there were some cool masks.

There were lots of images of war.
Got to love a Duchamp
Many uses for used shells.
Brancusi

I only saw this later, the Aussie poster down the bottom.
Picasso theatre curtain, it was huge & beautiful.
Lots of lovely Kandinsky's.

Alex wanted a photo with a tractor, you can almost see it, in the background.
Relief sculptures at the station.

Almost there... they are building a theatre right next to the Pompidou, which I think was a mistake, but obviously finances were more important than aesthetics. They are also building new apartments just behind this...and next to them will eventually be a shopping mall.
