Everyone is your friend when you have bread.
Us enjoying the grounds and surrounds of the Chateau.
You have to be like Diana the huntress, when you deal with the french bureaucracy. We went to the sous-prefecture (sub branch) for my green card, when you move you have a week to change your address details. We waited an hour (with two noisy kids) and got our papers in and all was well. When you check the website they give you a list of documents you need, then it's not until you get there, they tell you the other documents you also need. Luckily for us, Hubby had all the extra papers we needed. This is "the french way"...All was well until, they rang later that day saying I needed to go back and sign a paper... So I went back the next day. It's only 15km away, so that was okay... but still. This is also "the french way".

Old Maurepas

Old Tower
This is what all of the walls look like in France, that is why they have to put wallpaper on them.

Crete - Hania Archaeological Museum

This museum (housed in an ancient church) had a fabulous collection of pieces from ancient Minoan and Roman eras. When we first arrived, a little one decided that an open Minoan sarcophagi would be a great to climb in, talk about a heart attack! The guard almost had one too!
This was great.
I've never seen these type of pots before.
Phew a covered sarcophagi.
Roman mosaic
These cow statues were wonderful, I just wanted one.
Bird headed Goddesses.
This was absolutely beautiful, she is only 5cm tall, but the details were breathtaking.
